Community Foundation Awards Kindness Grants on Giving Tuesday

December 03, 2019

Ten $500 grants given to local charitable organizations as chosen by Random Act of Kindness Day participants

Lethbridge, AB (December 3, 2019) – Kind acts can change the world. The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta shared kind acts with our friends and neighbours during Random Act of Kindness Day (RAK Day) on November 1, and today, on Giving Tuesday, the Community Foundation is sharing kind acts one more time, with the announcement of the recipients of ten $500 Kindness Grants.

Participants in Random Act of Kindness Day were encouraged to share their kind acts with the Community Foundation, which were then entered into a random draw for the chance to give a $500 Kindness Grant to the local registered charity of the winner’s choosing. “We are delighted to be able to continue the wave of kindness by providing the Kindness Grants,” said Community Foundation Executive Director Charleen Davidson. “It’s always exciting for us to see the kind acts our community performs and to hear the difference they made to someone’s day.” A list of Kindness Grant recipients follows below.

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters Lethbridge and District
  • Children of St. Martha School, for the school’s student hardship fund
  • Fort Macleod Handibus Society
  • Friends Society of Remington-Alberta Carriage Centre
