Celebrating Giving Tuesday with Kindness Grants

November 27, 2018

Ten grants issued to charities selected by residents of Southwestern Alberta

Lethbridge, AB (November 27, 2018)—Buying someone a cup of coffee, sharing clothing with the less fortunate, and blanketing a school with thoughtful post-its are just some of the ways that Southwestern Albertans celebrated Random Act of Kindness Day this year. Today, on Giving Tuesday, the Community Foundation is pleased to announce the ten recipient charities of Kindness Grants, as chosen by participants in 2018’s Random Act of Kindness Day campaign.

“On Random Act of Kindness Day, we encouraged everyone to do good deeds for the people in their lives. We were inspired by the heartwarming kind acts shared with us by people from all corners of Southwestern Alberta. The giving spirit really flourishes in our community,” said Charleen Davidson, Community Foundation Executive Director. “We are delighted to be able to perpetuate the spirit of Random Act of Kindness Day by awarding ten Kindness Grants to ten worthy causes.”

Anyone who shared their good deed on social media with the hashtag #RAKDayCFLSA was entered into a draw to win a $500 grant to give to the registered charity of their choice. The winners and their chosen charities are listed below.
