The first Friday in November is commemorated by community foundations across Canada as Random Act of Kindness (RAK) Day. RAK Day is a time to perform kind acts for others in the community and encourage them to do the same. The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta invites you to join in on November 1 and help us spread kindness throughout our region.
Kind acts can be as simple or as elaborate as you wish—there’s no need to spend money to take part! Hold a door, show extra courtesy in traffic, pay someone a compliment—be as creative and as thoughtful as you like. With good intentions, optimism, and a little bit of luck, we can create a wave of kindness all through Southwestern Alberta.
Participants on RAK Day can enter into a draw for a chance to give one of ten $500 Kindness Grants to the local registered charity of their choice. To be eligible for the draw, simply perform a random act of kindness on November 1, and tell us about it on Facebook (facebook.com/CFLSA) or Twitter (@LethFoundation) by tagging the Community Foundation in the post and using the hashtag #rakdayCFLSA. You can also call or email the Community Foundation office at 403-328-5297 or research @cflsa.ca to share your kind act with us.
We hope you’ll join us and help change the world with kind acts on November 1. For more information, please visit www.cflsa.ca or contact Rob at the Community Foundation office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 403-328-5297.
