A little bit of kindness goes a long way, and while kind acts happen every day, community foundations across the country celebrate kindness on the first Friday of every November. You are invited to join the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta on Friday, November 2 for Random Acts of Kindness Day.
Random Acts of Kindness Day celebrates the power of small acts of kindness and encourages communities to do something nice for someone else. Kind acts can be anything from holding the door to complimenting someone, buying someone a coffee, or volunteering for a cause you care about. On November 2, the Community Foundation challenges the community of Southwestern Alberta to perform good deeds for others and encourage them to do the same, triggering a ripple of kindness that spreads through the community!
“We live in a pretty kind and compassionate community. Kind acts happen all the time, and that’s great, but we don’t always hear about them. We want to celebrate those acts while encouraging more of them,” said Community Foundation Executive Director Charleen Davidson. “We all feel good when someone does something nice for us, but it feels equally good when you’re the one performing the kind act. Everyone wins with random acts of kindness.”
Anyone who participates will have the chance to win one of ten $500 Kindness Grants for the registered charity of their choice. Like us on Facebook or Twitter and share your good deed with the hashtag #RAKdayCFLSA to enter the draw.
